Personalised healthcare orientation

Connect2Care is dedicated to supporting newcomers in Stockholm by offering free and accessible health screenings, along with valuable orientation on navigating the Swedish healthcare system. Our goal is to empower individuals with the knowledge and resources they need to take charge of their health, ensuring a strong and healthy foundation as they settle into their new lives. Through our services, we aim to create a welcoming environment where everyone can access the care and support they deserve.

We connect you to care

If your HIV test result is positive, you are not alone. Our team will offer to connect you with the healthcare system for confirmatory testing and comprehensive care and treatment. We are here to guide you every step of the way, with referrals to care or support.

Our staff are chosen for our knowledge on HIV and safer sex. We are not health care professionals, but we have undergone special training to perform counselling and HIV testing. We can also guide you in matters of sexual health and the health care system.

The clinics we refer to provide:

  • Fast-track follow-up care.
  • Guaranteed confidentiality, with records closed to anyone outside the clinic.
  • Access for all, regardless of legal status in Sweden.

Syphilis, hepatitis B, and C tests offer a pathway to treatment. Syphilis is curable with antibiotics, and hepatitis treatments safeguard liver health, preventing severe complications. Early detection makes all the difference.

Benefits for you and your partner

Effective Treatment:

Modern HIV treatments are highly effective, allowing individuals on medication to live long and healthy lives.

Managing HIV:

While antivirals are not a cure, they control the infection when taken correctly, helping maintain normal immune system function.

Protection Against AIDS:

People living with HIV who follow their treatment plan are safeguarded from developing AIDS.

U=U

Knowing your HIV status not only benefits your own health but also protects your partner.

When a person living with HIV is on treatment and has an undetectable viral load, HIV cannot be transmitted through sex, even without using a condom. Therefore, having sex with someone with an undetectable viral load is among the safest options.

This is oftentimes referred to as Undetectable=Untransmittable and has been shown in several studies, among those the PARTNER and PARTNER 2 studies.
